Welcome to our first-generation family and neighborhood! Our neighborhood is teeming with academically rigorous colleges and universities and first-generation friendly associations and organizations. We connect you to services that make it easier to search for competitive, first-generation friendly institutions and link to mentors, tutors, guides, and financial and scholarship support.
Our family is warm and helpful, and even though we work behind the scenes, we care about you and work to foster college-bound expectations. Many organizations are just like us. They help students in your shoes. The problem is that since there are so many of them, it is difficult to know where to find them all. Many students and families simply do not know where to look for information, or when. The First Generation Foundation organizes the essential information that you and your parents need under one roof. We collaborate with colleges and universities, scholarship providers, and organizations that provide first-generation student services.
The First Generation Foundation was started by people like you–first-generation college students who are now professional college graduates. Our board and advisory council are comprised of first, second, and third generation college graduates. The Foundation encourages students to pursue academic majors within a wide array of disciplines and fields, albeit, its area of curriculum focus is science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) as well as business education.
